Roasted Dandelion Root Coffee Creation

Our experienced facilitators will demonstrate the step-by-step process of harvesting, preparing, and roasting dandelion roots to perfection. Immerse yourself in the aroma and taste of this delightful brew, and unlock the secrets of this wild, natural drink.

WORKSHOP SCHEDULE

10:00 AM - 10:15 AM: Introduction
We will begin the day with an insightful introduction to the world of ethnobotany and how it connects us with nature.
10:15 AM - 11:15 PM: Plant Walk
Following the introduction, we will embark on a guided plant walk where you will learn to identify and harvest various spring medicinal plants.
11:15 PM - 11:30 PM: Short Break
Optional break to use the restroom or refresh after our plant walk.
11:30 PM - 12:30 PM: Wild Edible Harvesting & Preparation
Discover the top 10 wild foods of the Pacific Northwest and learn how to prepare them into delicous snacks! Exact foods will be determined closer to the course date as wild foods and weather can be unpredictable in advance.
12:30 PM - 1:30 PM: Roasted Dandelion Root Coffee
Learn how to harvest and prepare dandelion root to make a delicious coffee alternative that is healthy for your gut and less stressful on your body.
1:30 PM - 2:30 PM: Oregon Grape Tincture
In this session, our experienced instructors will guide you through the process of harvesting and preparing oregon grape root to make a tincture. You will have the opportunity to create your own bottle to take home.
2:30 PM - 3:00 PM: Closing
Ask all the questions you want! Engage with your peers. Finish your projects. This is when we'll show you how you can find more information or take your skills to the next level.

To ensure a personalized experience, space is limited. Early registration is recommended to secure your spot. Participants are advised to dress comfortably and wear appropriate outdoor clothing and footwear. Please bring a notebook and pen to jot down valuable insights and tips shared during the workshop.
