We invite you to join us for Foraging for Connection, a two-day ethnobotany and nature connection intensive in the foothills of the Northwestern Cascades range.
In this weekend intensive, we will:
Discover local edible and medicinal plants while learning the principles of sustainable and honorable foraging
Prepare herbal remedies and begin to understand the properties and uses of various native plants
Practice slowness and intuitive reflection of the natural world through somatic exercises and solo time on the land
Share and listen to other members of the community in sacred talking circles
Explore communal dream time, the imaginal realm, embodied movement, and guided meditations
This intensive camping retreat is designed to inspire curiosity and foster a deeper relationship with the natural world. Throughout the weekend, you will participate in guided plant walks, solo time on the land, eco-somatic practices, and hands-on herbal medicine workshops that connect you to the rhythms of nature. Our experienced instructors will guide you in discovering local edible and medicinal plants, ethical foraging practices, and the art of creating your own herbal preparations.
TOPICS OF DISCUSSION MAY INCLUDE:
What can local plants teach us?
How might incorporating wild foods into our diet and medicine affect our lives?
What kinds of wild beings want to open a relationship with me?
Who am I when I am alone on the land?
WHO IS INVITED TO JOIN US?
Anyone who is curious about connecting with nature and its wild inhabitants.
Those who are interested in learning more about edible and medicinal plants.
Folks looking to share stories and listen in supportive containers.
what to Expect / bring With You
Bring an open heart and mind. Be curious and willing to explore.
This is not a therapy session nor is it intended to open wounds or solve complex individual crises. It is also not a substitute for an herbal consultation or appointment with a natural medicine practitioner. Our intention is to create a community container with heart-forward individuals interested in deepening their relationship with plants, nature, and Self while learning how to prepare herbal remedies.
Plan to bring camping equipment or sleep under the stars. You will be responsible for your own breakfast and lunches. A group outdoor kitchen will be available for mealtimes, if needed. Dinner will be provided on Saturday night.
Expect to leave not with all the answers, but with a heart full of questions and a mind buzzing with possibilities.
