The Forager’s Apprentice: July - Summer Fruits & Berries

In our 5 Month Pacific Northwest Foraging Apprenticeship, including this July Summer Fruits and Berries foraging workshop, participants will learn to identify, harvest, and prepare wild edible and medicinal plants and mushrooms. This particular workshop covers the identification and preparation of summer’s bountiful Pacific Northwest native fruits.

Through detailed, engaging plant studies along the trail, attendees acquire proficiency in identifying edible and medicinal plant species of the Pacific Northwest bioregion. After foraging for wild edibles, the group will get hands-on practice preparing some delicious foods and herbal medicines.

By taking part in the series as a whole, participants will be equipped with the knowledge and confidence needed to identify and harvest native plants and fungi throughout various seasons in the Pacifc Northwest.

This workshop is part of a 5-month Pacific Northwest Foraging Apprenticeship focused on diving deeper into foraging in the Pacific Northwest throughout the seasons. Space is limited to 12 participants for the entire course as a whole and there are only 4 open spots for drop-ins.

If you want to take your foraging and native plant identification skills to the next level, this is the perfect opportunity to learn from skilled naturalists and foragers.
