Semester Outdoor Education Camps for Youth

Rainwalk Rewild’s semester camps provide engaging, hands-on experiences for youth during key breaks in the school calendar. These camps are designed to nurture outdoor skills, inspire curiosity, and strengthen connections with the natural world. Whether it’s a one-day adventure or a multi-day overnight, participants will come away with practical skills, unforgettable memories, and a deeper sense of belonging in nature.

Designed for children ages 7+, our programs provide an exceptional chance to explore the wonders of the wilderness while mastering essential skills like fire-making, tracking, foraging, primitive technology, and archery.

At Rainwalk Rewild, we believe that nature is the ultimate classroom. Our semester camps, including No School Days, Spring Break Camp, and Youth Leadership Overnight Campouts, offer youth an engaging way to learn, grow, and connect with the natural world. These programs build resilience, awareness, and practical skills through hands-on activities and fun group challenges.

No School Days

  • Ideal for newcomers, these day camps offer a flexible, drop-in structure while encouraging students to build foundational outdoor skills.

  • Learn and practice core wilderness living skills such as - but not limited to - fire-making, tracking, and plant identification.

  • Engage in interactive games and challenges that promote leadership, cooperation, and resilience, requiring a level of self-awareness and responsibility to operate effectively in teams and independently.

Spring Break Camp

  • Participate in guided exploration and observation of local ecosystems to deepen ecological understanding while practicing skills in teams and independently.

  • Enhance focus and coordination with traditional archery, throwing projectiles, and create nature-based crafts with knives or other tools over the course of a week.

  • Our outdoor classroom is dedicated to learning but waaaay more fun. Most of our instruction time is interactive and builds character through games and team challenges.

Youth Weekend Campouts

  • Tackle more complex wilderness tasks, including sleeping in a debris shelter (optional but COOL), navigation, and night tracking in addition to traditional wilderness living skills.

  • This overnight campout is focused on developing leadership qualities in older school-aged youth to young teens by participating in exercises focused on teamwork, responsibility, and outdoor leadership.

  • The students invited to our Youth Leadership Overnights are on the track towards an apprenticeship with us or working in outdoor education when they become teens.

Our youth semester camps incorporate a wide range of activities such as wilderness survival, camp cooking, primitive technology, stealth, and archery designed to ignite your child's curiosity and strengthen their connection with nature.

  • May 16-18 | Spring Youth Leadership Campout | Former & current students ages 11+

Leadership / apprenticeship opportunities will be available for older teens that are looking to advance their wilderness skills and gain experience working with youth. Please Contact Us if you think your teen would be a good fit for a leadership position.

Spring Break

Spring Break Camp | April 7-11, 2025

Spring Wilderness Survival

Join Rainwalk Rewild’s Wilderness Survival Spring Break Camp for an adventure where school-aged youth learn essential survival skills like fire-making, shelter building, traditional archery and Pacific Northwest ecology, all while connecting with nature and their peers. This weeklong day camp empowers participants with confidence, independence, and respect for the natural world.

  • This two-day camp is best for students ages 8-13 who have the dexterity and self-awareness to handle themselves responsibly with knives. If your child is on the cusp (7 or 14) and they would be a perfect fit for this camp, please Contact Us.

  • Each program day includes 4 hours of instruction and teambuilding activities, 1 hour of constructive breaks, and 1 hour for interactive pickup and drop off.

  • Our summer camp programs are located at Tyee Arts & Education Center, an 80-acre private property just outside of Mount Vernon.

  • Students learn and practice essential wilderness living skills over the course of a week.

Program Deposit: $100 to secure your spot

Early Bird Program Cost Before February 28: $375*

Later Bird Program Cost After March 1: $400

The deposit is included in the overall cost of camp and will be subtracted from the registration fee at payment.

Semester Overnights

Youth Leadership Weekend Campout | May 16-18, 2025

The Youth Leadership Weekend Campout is an immersive experience designed to empower a small group of our current and former students with essential leadership skills through hands-on activities and outdoor challenges. The campout fosters confidence, teamwork, and resilience while deepening each participant's connection to the land. Guided by seasoned instructors, school-aged students will cultivate their potential as leaders and stewards of their environment.

  • This overnight camp is best for students ages 11-13 who are current or former students of ours interested in developing their leadership and advanced outdoor skills. If your child is on the cusp (10 or 14) and they would be a perfect fit for this camp, please Contact Us.

  • Each program day includes instruction and teambuilding activities, constructive breaks for meal and snack times, and 1 hour for interactive pickup and drop off.

    Drop off starts at 4:00 PM on Friday.
    Pick up begins at 2:00 PM on Sunday.

  • Our summer camp programs are located at Tyee Arts & Education Center, an 80-acre private property just outside of Mount Vernon.

  • Students learn and practice essential wilderness living skills over the course of a week.

Here's how the registration** process works:

  • Click “Register Now” and fill out the pre-registration form. This adds the deposit to your cart (one is required for each individual child per program). Then you can check out to complete registration.

  • After the initial deposit payment, you'll receive additional program registration forms and liability waivers to complete for each child. Complete these forms and return them to us promptly.

  • A tuition payment link will be sent 14-30 days before the program begins. Tuition must be paid in full before the start of the program. If you need payment assistance in the form of scholarships or payment plans, please describe your needs during registration or Contact Us.

  • Enjoy discounts for early enrollment, siblings, additional programs, and for referring friends and family:

    • Sibling Discount: 10% off the first sibling (2 kids) and 20% off your second sibling (3+ kids)
